Enlarged tongue
An enlarged tongue can be a natural process or a sign of something. This post is simply here to provide a differential diagnosis for those with enlarged tongues.
Enlarged tongue differential diagnosis
Most will be simply enlarged because the patient has been living without posterior teeth and the tongue has grown to fill in the area. Other possibilities include
- Amyloidosis
- Hypothyroidism/myxedema
